Porsche Data Guide997
(2004-date) The 997 has updated the look of the new generation 911s, and recalls the appearance of earlier ‘round’ headlight models. There have also been several significant technical developments. Most important is a new evolution of the Porsche Stability Management, which is far more sensitive. The new cars feature 19-inch wheels as an option, but these should only be considered with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), which permits soft or hard damper settings. The new Turbo, introduced in March 2006 is, predictably, a stellar performer. With its new, variable vane turbocharger technology, the power punch isn’t as exciting as earlier Turbos, but nobody is questioning its incredible performance.
